Zurich, Switzerland, November 27, 2018 – Serbian Superliga squad OK Zeleznicar Lajkovac are to become the 13th member of the ACPV, the Association des Clubs Professionnels de Volleyball.
The ACPV family welcomes its newest member into its ranks as Serbian top squad OK Zeleznicar Lajkovac joins the Association des Clubs Professionnels de Volleyball.
ACPV General Manager and 2000 Olympic champ Ivan Miljković is pleased that the top side from his home nation decided to be part of the ACPV. «Since their promotion to the Serbian Women’s Superliga in 2012, Zeleznicar have established themselves as a top team in Serbia. OK Zeleznicar are without doubt one of the clubs that want to play a leading role in the growth of women’s club Volleyball in Serbia.»
Nevertheless, OK Zeleznicar are not only poised to fight for national glory, but to make a name for themselves in Europe’s top competitions, too. After finishing second in the regular season of the Serbian Superliga last year – their best finish since promotion – the side from Lajkovac are to celebrate the opening of their first-ever CEV Volleyball Cup campaign with the first leg of the 16th Finals as they face Stiinta Bacau this Wednesday, November 26.
OK Zeleznicar Lajkovac President Zivorad Lazarević is already looking forward to working closely with the other elite clubs in European club Volleyball. «It is a big honour for Serbian club Volleyball and especially our club to be part of Europe’s top squads at the ACPV.
